I would like to commend Donna Demis for her help in finding us our home. We moved to Colorado in August of 2003 from Santa Barbara, CA and decided Boulder was the place for us. We had not spent much time in the area knew nothing about the local market and really did not know our way around town. We were seeking a particular school district, we had an idea what size home we were looking for, and we knew what would be the maximum price we wanted to pay. This is the ninth home my wife and I have bought or sold and we have come to know what features are important to us. We were amazed at the amount of inventory and the diversity of the market. One third more square footage for half the price! There were many different types of homes and many different areas of town to consider. Old established neighborhoods vs. new developments. Being in the city or out a little further out. Views vs. no views. City lot vs. a larger rural lot. Many more considerations than what we have been accustomed to in the past. Donna and my wife must have been inside close to 100 homes ranging up to a million dollars in price. In the end we found something that made us happy for the low $700's. It was amazing what Donna was capable of doing in a day. One day on short notice, she and my wife were able to go through 20 homes! How she was able to get the appointments made and people out of their homes so quickly was truly something! Donna and my wife would pick the best of the bunch and then have me out to look. Donna was a true professional throughout the whole process. She did a great job educating us about Boulder and the nuances of this particular market. Many realtors are quick to point out the positive attributes of a property, Donna certainly did so as well but she was also very forthright in pointing out what she considered to be negatives too. Be it location considerations or issues dealing with the property or the house itself. Her valuable input made us feel comfortable and reassured that we would make a wise decision and make a good pick. It did not take her any time to determine which homes would be worth showing us. She had us figured out pretty quickly. We were difficult as we wanted to see a broad cross section of the Boulder market to get a feel for value and pricing. I requested a lot of information to help me get a handle on the Boulder market and Donna was quick to deliver. We are now in our house and find that we like it better every day we are here. It is probably one of the best living houses of the nine we have had. The transaction was very smooth without any glitches thanks to Donna being so thorough and on top of things. There was nothing overlooked and closing was a pleasant experience for all involved. When it came time to make the offer, she did not hesitate my coming in at $75K below the asking price. She was very helpful laying out strategy and we went back and forth a few times without creating any angst for us or the sellers. In the end we settled on a price $40K below the asking price. Of all the realtors we have dealt with, none have done a better job than Donna. Very professional, very courteous. She is a good listener, she is a very detail oriented and knows how to get the job done. She is very direct and to the point in her manner. No time wasted with this girl! I felt I had spent very little time away from work when she and my wife had me looking at their top picks. She would give me a very accurate and quick rundown on the properties and the supporting numbers and I always felt confidant I was seeing the best value for the money within the Boulder market. We developed a great respect for Donna. She is a hard worker, very tenacious and will not quit until she feels the job is done and she has a happy, satisfied customer.
