Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood sits between Downing Street and Broadway to the east and west, and 8the Avenue and Colfax to the south and north. Since about 1990, the Capitol Hill community has become much safer and a very desirable area for young professionals looking for homes close to Downtown Denver.
There are single family homes in Capitol Hill as well as many apartments and condominiums. Many of the homes were built in the early 1900s, which makes them some of the oldest buildings in Denver. However, many of them have been renovated and/or remodeled. In many of the old and historical non-residential buildings that sit in the Capitol Hill community exist popular restaurants, bars, clubs, coffee shops and stores.
The Capitol Hill neighborhood can see a lot of vehicle traffic due to the fact that there are several hospitals located in the vicinity. The community's close proximity to Downtown Denver is also a cause of heavy vehicle traffic. Parking is often a problem as there are limited street spaces. However, most residences have driveways, parking garages or designated spots for vehicles.
