The Highlands neighborhood sits inside the boarders of West 38th Avenue, Zuni Street, West 32 Avenue, and Federal Boulevard. The Highlands should not be confused with "Highlands Ranch," which is another neighborhood that sits to the south of Denver in Douglas County.
The Highlands has gone through a great transformation over the past decade. Today, it is known as one of Denver's most chic and trendy neighborhoods. Not only are the homes desirable due to their architectural qualities, but the neighborhood is also home to many small, non-chain restaurants, family-owned shops and several popular bars.
There is ethnic diversity in The Highlands, which was originally founded by Scottish, German, Italian, English and Mexican immigrants. Many of the streets in The Highlands are named after these particular regions of the world.
There are several large and very nice parks within the Highlands neighborhood where baseball diamonds, basketball courts, playgrounds, and picnic areas can be found. The community is also conveniently located near Downtown Denver, Invesco Field at Mile High and the Pepsi Center.
