Denver schools provide safe and productive learning environments for junior high school students to develop essential academic and social skills.  Middle schools in Denver are well noted for their exceptional academic programs and numerous extracurricular activities.  D’evelyn Junior/Senior High School, for example, is rated “Excellent” by the Colorado Department of Education, and in 2006-2007 it won a John Irwin School of Excellence Award.
