The Town of Superior sits just a bit to the southeast of Louisville, and has grown from a population of only 250 in the late 1980s to about 12,000 residents today.
Superior has about 2,700 single family homes and approximately 1,800 multi-family homes, and commercial and retail areas that are currently in development. The Town of Superior is not large - with a total land area of about four square miles. However, within those few square miles are many acres of parks, dedicated open space, and many jogging/walking, hiking and biking trails.
The Town of Superior has come a long way since it was a mining area at the turn of the 20th Century. After the Superior mines closed in 1945, the area became primarily a ranching and farming community. However, within the past decade, the Town of Superior has become a popular and desired area for new residents. It sits close to several recreation areas, US Highway 36, the University of Colorado in Boulder, Flatirons Mall, and it's also a relatively short drive to Downtown Denver.
