The Washington Park neighborhood, or "Wash Park" as locals normally call it, is located in the area surrounding a large and popular park with the same name. The Wash Park neighborhood sits within the boundaries of Virginia Avenue, Downing Street, Louisiana Avenue and Franklin Street.
Wash Park was one of the very first established neighborhoods in Denver and has become a very upscale and hip community today. The community has a very diverse population in terms of age and marital status. Young families, empty-nesters, and unmarried professionals all call Wash Park home.

One of the most appealing characteristics of the Wash Park neighborhood is the architecture of the homes. Many are 20th Century brick houses in typical Denver styles, but quite a few original Wash Park homes have been made larger via a pop-top. The interiors of many homes have also been updated and renovated. Some original homes have been completely torn down and replaced with new construction.
In addition to the close proximity to the park, the Wash Park neighborhood also has a few nearby streets (S. Gaylord, Alameda and Pearl) which are home to several boutique shops and unique restaurants/bars. Many of the community's residents walk to these areas for a day or night of entertainment.
West Wash Park does have a homeowner's association which is dedicated to addressing issues important to people living in the community. The association also coordinates several neighborhood events.
